from the Scotsman.com Tue 20 Dec 2005 Highlanders support kilt ban pupil An American student banned from wearing a kilt to his high school dance has won the support of a Highland community. Nathan Warmack, 18, from Missouri, was told to change into trousers by the school principal when he turned up wearing the tartan. An online petition was launched demanding an apology from Jackson High head Rick McClard, drawing more than 1,600 signatures. The figure was boosted by residents of Caithness after a local councillor posted a link to the petition on a community website. Bill Fernie, councillor for Wick West, said: "One of the leaders of Clan Gunn over in America contacted me and asked me to highlight what had happen ed to the community here. "Caithness is the home of the clan so he thought that people here might be interested in showing their support for their petition. It's something that a lot of people feel quite strongly about." A very Hilton Christmas

From boston.com news: Giant Paris Hilton Christmas display shakes up Cranston By Eric Tucker, Associated Press Writer | December 8, 2005 CRANSTON, R.I. -- See Paris Hilton in all her seductive splendor, striking a provocative pose for passing motorists and spreading hot Christmas cheer in a chilly Rhode Island winter. Blown-up images of Hilton and strings of pink Christmas lights adorn the front lawn of a home in a middle-class neighborhood of this city, part of a head-turning holiday display that pays homage to the famed hotel heiress. The over-the-top pictorial is the work of Joe Moretti, a 38-year-old designer who was arrested last year for trespassing on Martha Stewart's property in Maine. Passersby get an eyeful of Hilton sporting a tiny pink top hiding little of her chest, or wearing knee-high boots and a sultry pout or holding a finger to her lips. Even Hilton's faithful Chihuahua, Tinkerbell, is celebrated in a colorful portrait. "If it's ...

Good quote on Boston Legal this eveing

This quote was used on Boston Legal this evening and it was a good one. thought I would share: "In Germany they first came for the Communists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me--and by that time no one was left to speak up." ~ Martin Niemoller (1892-1984)

The things that make you smile :)

Looking today at my blog, I tried to clik on the prussian blue web site and alas got a pop up that said the site was down. That made me smile. As Nick and Philip would say this makes the baby Jesus laugh:)

WOW talk about Shit that pisses you off!!!!!!

Ok Now I hesitate to even post about this, because I don't want to spread this CRAP any more then it already is. But this is my blog and I get to bitch when I get pissed off, and well I'm pissed off! These CHILDREN are the beginning of the end. Check out their site here. Here is a video of what look like cute sweet children, this is just flat out disturbing. It didn't really hit me until I saw one of them in highland dress. That just infuriated me!!!! If you look in there store section the promote finding your Irish and your Scottish history. It made me honestly sick. Here are the lyrics to that music video: Well sit down and listen, to what I have to say. Soon will come a great war, a bloody but holy day. And after that purging our people will be free, and sing up in the bright skies, a sun for all to seeÂ…Â…. Times are very tough now for a proud White man to live. And although it may appear that this world has no life to give. Times are soon changing, this cant go on o...

I'mm Baaack!!!!!!!

I'm home! I'm tired, I'm sore, I will probably never ever fly Northwest airlines again. I have tons of pictures and lots of memories and about on hour of video. Let's see We left on the 22nd and arrived on Dublin on the 23rd. 9-22-05 3:00pm The Plane out of Lexington was about 20 min. Late boarding and once it did we sat at the gate for about 30 minutes for no good reason. We pulled away from the gate and then sat on the runway for another 20 minutes while the pilot decided wether or not we needed more fuel. Finaly almost an hour later we take off. 5:00pm The Pilot has taken another route that did cut some time off of the trip so Nick and I take a run accross Detrot Airport. We think we can make it because the plane leaves at 5:25. Well no, they moved the time up and the plance was leaving at 5:15. We got to the gate at 5:15. The door had just closed the plane was still there and we could not get on. The Princess WAS NOT HAPPY. So They reroute us through Charles DeG...

Later.

I'm leaving on a Jet Plane, will be back on October 3. From beautiful Ireland. Have a great Day!

University of Kentucky finally Makes Top 20

From the Lexington Herald Leader: UK 's student body 8th fattest, magazine finds By Sharon Thompson HERALD-LEADER STAFF WRITER Kentucky nutritionists are cringing at this report in the October issue of Men's Fitness magazine: The University of Kentucky is eighth among the top 20 fattest colleges in America . In the magazine's first report on the health of America 's college campuses, it partnered with Princeton Review, a research organization that tracks interests and habits of college students. Ten thousand students from more than 660 U.S. colleges and universities were asked everything from "How many pounds have you gained or lost since you started going to school?" and "How often do you work out?" to thoughts on "How would you rate the fitness facilities on your campus?" and "Does your school appear to care about how fit you are?" The fittest schools? Brigham Young University and the University of...

ATTENTION PARENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK I have to get this off my chest! I work in a Dance retail store. I sell Dance shoes. I want to offer this little tidbit of advice to the parents out there. I am not a freaking miracle worker!!!! I can NOT make a pair of ill fitting $29.00 tap shoes last for 2YEARS!!!! It is NOT POSSIBLE!!!!!! Your child's feet will grow in 2 years. If I fit them that big now them will walk right out of them now. Let me re cap these are not the $79.00 tap shoes or even the $298.00 tap shoes oh no $29.00 ARE YOU KIDDING!!!!!! The shoes are cheap, even at the right size they don't fit well. AHHHHH. Sorry. The frustration had mounted. The mother in question had driven up in a Lexus and had diamonds all over her hands and was carrying a coach purse. I don't know if she spent it all on her self or what. But I was livid. OK I'm done. Have a great week end. UPDATE: Yet another one today, (9-18) Did the exact same thing! Are you people stupid? I hate to be rude but I really can not fathom how...

The New Toy!!!!

Look at the new toy!, this is the coolest thing EVER! No need for a lap top to dump images on! this thing has 30 Gig of spase you can see your pics befre you put them on here and bam there you go. ah I love it.! This thing is freakin sweet!

Underwhelmed.

Nick and I ate dinner at Panera bread this evening. I have to say that I was grossly underwelmed. The staff was very nice and pleasant, the decor was your usual I am so stuck up my ass with trend. So no real complaints there, I was not so thrilled when we had to wait a 1/2 hour for our 2 cold sandwiches only to find out that our food was done the little light up buzzer thing wasn't working. Once we did get our food my sandwich was wrong, how hard is a ham and cheese sandwich with nothing on it. Not an little bit of this and little bit of that no I said just put the meat and cheese on the bread. Well we eat our meal with kettle chips, I HATE kettle chips (too hard) and decide for a little desert and for desert I have a cinnamon chip scone. That would have been really good had it been warm. I have to say, it was not horrible, I cant say that I will never go back but it wouldnt be my first choice of places to go. ok End rant

Places to go before we have children

1. Ireland we leave next week!!!!!!!!! So I wont be bloging for a bit, I will be in Ireland whoo hoo! I cant wait! Hopefully I will come home with a blue million pictures. So next on the agenda is the Grand Canyon Nick has been wanting me to go for years we are hoping to go next summer. Then sometime next spring we are hoping to get to DC to see Josh and Liberty! And the City I've never been. Nick says I could spend my life in the Smithsonian. Finally before we have children we want to return to Nicks homeland to Family Castle. Castle Dunvegan, It's on the Isle of Skye in Scotland and we think that we may be able to do it in the next year and a half if we budget right. So lets hope!!!!! Then we can have kids I think. The only other place I want to go is Rome and that can wait a little longer.

Lots of Fun!!!!!

Found the web site where you can play with the plate maker whoo hoo. I love this thing. I'm not paying $40.00 for this. but fun to play with!

Ok so today I am just pissed

Have you ever just woken up and thought I am in just too bad of a mood to be seen today. I'm not quite sure why I'm up set I have been up since 4:00 this morning so that could have something to do with it. I also saw a woman smoking with her kid in the car this morning and wanted to scream and yell at her, do you have any idea what in the hell you are doing!!!!!! Not that it would have done any good. All in all I should be in a good mood, my schedule is only 12-6 today and I get my new 2006 escape limited after work. But no, I'm just angry with the world right now. I think the comment below really made me angry last night and I'm still going from that. So I guess the person who made the comment got the desired effect. I just wish they would have had the balls to have posted who they were. I don't post with out listing who I am. ANY time I post a comment.

Wow Proof that there is still humor in the world...

From Monsters and Critics.com MIAMI BEACH, FL, United States (UPI) -- Police guarded the Miami Beach hospital room of Death Row Records founder Marion "Suge" Knight and made little headway into solving his shooting. A bone in Knight`s upper right leg was shattered by a bullet during a party at the swanky Shore Club before the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night. He underwent surgery and was reported in stable condition. Although the party was packed with revelers, Miami Beach police spokesman Bobby Hernandez told Wednesday`s Miami Herald no witnesses have come forward. "We`re not getting any information," he said. "We don`t have a motive. We don`t have a suspect. We have very little information and it`s very frustrating." "Access Hollywood " speculated Knight may have accidentally shot himself. The tabloid TV show pointed to the lack of shell casings found at the scene of the shooting, saying Knight`s security could have cleared the...

Changes in Latitudes, Changes in attitudes

Ok so call me an idiot.... Here is what I am driving: The deal here is this was my mom's car. I don't have to pay taxes, gas, insurance, oil changes nothing. It is an 03. It's in great shape. I get really depresesed when I drive it. So Dad has offered me a new deal we trade this one in for what ever hopefully this: But then it's mine all mine. The princess has to pay everything. But no car payment. He will pay off the car for me. I guess at the ripe old age of 25 it is time that I take on some responsibility. Ok that's it for now.

Ok so I have got in to the whole podcast thing (I know pc users hiss and boo) and I haven't even listened to the potter cast yet but I loved the image above. That is just awesome! The muggle cast from mugglenet.com was a little to "3 dorks in a bed room for me" I love the web site and I mean no disrespect but it was just a little to middle school ish. for lack of a better term. we will have to see about potter cast. Alright God what are ya gonna throw at me next?

My dog that I have had for 16 years passed away yesterday. Jack was my puppy. He was named Jack after my first dance competition number, Hit the Road Jack. On top of that, Ziggy thought it would be a good idea to swallow a popsicle stick whole! So we had to make a quick trip to the vet emergency room. AND At lunch yesterday I hear a news report on the radio of a man in a car on a road who had been in a fatal accident. ALL MATCHING MY DAD's description. It wasn't him thank GOD!!!!! I swear, God is up there going hey you wanna see her jump watch this...

I'm a Dagger, hmm..... that explains alot.

Your personality is best represented by the Japanese dagger, called a Tanto. A person who wields a Tanto knows better than anyone that you cant judge on appearance alone. You have the unique ability to see the full potential in people and objects long before anyone else has a clue. You are clever and are probably underestimated a lot by others, but YOU know who you are and exactly what you are capable of.

I love the Scottish!

You know there are things that fall under the heading of: "This can not end well" please have a look at some friends of ours wedding recption last night. This was at the end of the night around cleanup. First we have Heidi and her new mother in law. Heidi gets ready to swing and ... She misses. So she tries a different approach... And with all the grace and poise of a bride the pinata is run-thru. The pinata was tough so Heidi tossed it to the ground to do some more damage. The damn thing still would not give! So what do you do? CALL in the PIPER!!!! now keep your eye on the bell.... And Keith hits it! the crowd goes wild; the bride shrieks :) And alas a final image for the evening.
